[well, that actually caught him off guard. he knew that orihime trusted him and wanted to be friends with him, but he didn't think that she liked him enough to say she trusted him with her own life. time and time again she's proven that she's not a typical human, and he wanted to believe in her so desperately too. but he was so hurt, so wounded, and he was so full of anger and hatred.

adam paused, glancing down at the ground before looking back to her. his mask hid any true emotions, but it was clear how emotional he was feeling due to his voice.]

Would you really trust your life to me? ....After all, I am dangerous. I have and will hurt people. I've been called a beast.

[he just wanted to hear her answer to that, maybe then his heart might melt and he won't be as cold.]

[She grins as she says it, a little tickled that he finds it so hard to believe.]

You're the best friend I have in this city, Adam-san. And you protected me when I couldn't wake up. I think you're amazing.

[And she absolutely means that.]

Besides, I've been called a monster too, ne? Just because of my powers. Labels like that don't mean very much, coming from people who know so little about you or me.

[okay... that calmed him down, actually.

the faunus nodded, scratching his head before walking over to the couch she was on and taking a seat beside her. he leaned forward so his elbows were resting on his knees, his gaze fixated on the ground.]

You're the only human I ....consider a close friend, too. [there, he said it. it was embarrassing and he didn't want to admit it but he finally did.]

[She doesn't know what to say to that. Her heart thumps in her chest as a slow smile spreads across her face. Honestly, that's one of the nicest things he could say to her. Knowing who he is, and what he's had to deal with, to call her a close friend is huge. She's deeply moved.]

[So she sets down his radio and sits closer, giving him an affectionate bump of her shoulder.]

How about we eat Chinese takeout tonight, and go shoot each other in the holosuites over in Nova City?

[dramaticals]

[he couldn't deny that he felt a slight flush rush to his face as well when he admitted that to her. it had been so long since he had said anything along those lines to anyone, he never thought he'd gain a relationship like that again.

however, he doesn't quite understand what she just said. he looks over to her after she bumped him.]

[Oh, hey...maybe he doesn't have that in his world. She should explain so he doesn't think they're trying to assassinate each other for fun.]

They're just the light kind of lasers, not destructive beams or anything like that. It'll be fun!

[he raised an eyebrow behind his mask at her, but in the end he figured going out with her would be just what he needed.]

I'd like to stay the night. [he doesn't want to go back to his place and be alone and get angry about this again.]

[She's okay with that, but...UM! HOW TO RESPOND?????]

[She's oblivious to a lot of things, but she still knows what's typically considered proper.]

[he holds up a hand, wanting to stop her thoughts right then and there.]

I just don't want to be left alone with my thoughts.

[Orihime nods slowly, understanding, but still pretty red-faced. She can't refuse him, especially after he's put so much faith and trust in her. She's kind of a pushover to begin with.]

Where do you want to sleep?

[dramaticals]

...The couch?

[that was a good enough spot, right?]

Okay. I'll get some extra blankets on the way back!

[This might actually be a lot of fun.]

Do you want me to stay out here with you until you fall asleep?

[adam smiled lightly at that. he nodded, feeling much better now.]

You calmed me down at least.

[She has to admit -- it feels really good to know that she's needed, and that she's important to him. She stands by what she said to that individual, that Adam's a good person. He just needs the opportunity to exhibit that.]

I don't know if I can take credit for that!

[But it makes her happy to hear it. She stands to her feet, pushing her book aside, and offering Adam a hand up.]

Let's go get some fried noodles!

[dramaticals]

[he never would have thought he'd have a friendship with a human. but adam took her hand and stood, now going back to towering over her.]
